About Me

My academic journey started with studying for a BA (Hons) in History of Art at the University of Bristol, where I graduated with first class honours. I explored a broad range of subjects ranging from Russian Constructivism and Soviet Socialist Realism to Tudor patronage and classical architecture. I went on to obtain an MA in Garden History at Bristol, before completing my PhD on the architect Thomas Archer in 2015. I have also worked in interiors as an assistant to a prominent UK designer.

This has led to a successful career as an Architectural Historian for one of the UK's leading traditional and classical architectural firms, where I am lucky enough to continue to work today. In my day-to-day job I analyse the development and character of historic buildings and landscapes, ranging in scale from small domestic properties to listed country mansions and estates. I specialise in the English Baroque, in particular the work of Thomas Archer, and I write and lecture frequently on this subject.

However, early in my career I also completed a foundation course at the Arts Institute at Bournemouth (now the Arts University Bournemouth). I specialised in Fine Art Textiles and loved printing, often incorporating a variety of media.  I graduated with a distinction and despite happily pursuing architectural history, the passion for creative arts never left me.
I have now returned to making art alongside my role in architecture, and I am exploring my love of print once more. I am also a mum, busy juggling all the fun of family life!
